STYLE COUNSEL It’s official – having your hair styled is good for a woman’s mental health.

Dubbed “hairatherapy”, an increasing number of ladies are choosing to unload their emotional burdens to their hair stylist rather than seek help from a counsellor.

From relationship troubles with their lover, shortcomings of their mother to gynaecological problems and a deep seated hatred for their boss – women are often astonished at how much they reveal to their stylist.

Sit in any hairdressing salon and you'll soon realise that the women there have forgotten how public the place is.

“Not only does the customer emerge from the hairdressers looking good, but in getting their troubles “off their chest” they feel so much better too, says hair stylist Amy Morgan.
