Posh hairstyle 'based on a Factory Girl' Victoria Beckham based her hot new hairstyle on 1960s style icon Edie Sedgewick, a celebrity hairstylist has claimed.

The fashion guru unveiled her latest short blonde bob last month, telling the Sun newspaper that her new sun-kissed look was perfect for her upcoming move to Los Angeles.

Beckham hired hairstylist James Brown, who is responsible for celebrity hair including Kate Moss's locks, to carry out the makeover.

He revealed: "She wanted a dramatic change. It's Edie Sedgwick with a nod to the Eighties and is sexy and boyish-looking."

Edie Sedgewick's look is certainly back in the spotlight at the moment, after she was played by Hollywood beauty Sienna Miller in the biopic Factory Girl, which charts the heiress and society girl's life with artist Andy Warhol.

Also sporting a new hairdo to match his wife's is Beckham's husband, ex-Real Madrid star David.

Famed for his variety of hairstyles over the years, including a mowhawk, cornrows and a top-knot, the 32-year-old has now been spotted with a retro-style short-back-and-sides, complete with a sweeping section across his forehead.
